Blog Income and Traffic - March 2008

Another month in the books, another income report. While I’m looking to remain stable, I’d of course like to see income growth. Let’s see the numbers.

April Birthday Bash - Here’s Your Gift!

My birthday’s coming up in about a month, and besides a planned Wii party (I know, I might be too old for it, but they’re fun!), why not celebrate in cyberspace?  Now, before you say anything, yes, this is a small blog.  With that said, instead of you folks giving me gifts (I’m accepting shares of JMBA if anyone’s interested… hah!), I’d prefer to give back.   What better way than to offer free blog reviews?  Here’s the deal.  Leave me a message in this thread or under the Contact Us page with your blog’s title and link.  Each week I’ll try and review 2-3 blogs.  That’s it!  No catch, no request for links. Nada, zip, zilch.  So what are you waiting for?  You only have until April 17th to enter.

Good luck this week.  Looks as if we’re opening up choppy this morning but with these markets you honestly never know anymore.

Blog Income - February 2008

It’s amazing how quickly the traffic dies down when you’re on vacation!  In any event, here’s a recap of the blog’s income for February:

  • TLA Links:  $34.10
  • PayPerPost:  $22.00
  • ReviewMe:  $5.00
  • TNX Links:   $68.80
  • Private Sales:  $188.75
  • Advertising Expenses: ($9.30)
  • Total for February 2008:  $309.35
  • Total for January 2008:   $178.36
    • % Increase/Decrease:  73.4%

Private advertising really does appear to be the way to go nowadays.  It’s very easy to understand how some of the more mainstream bloggers such as Chow and Problogger do so well.  I’m currently expecting Adsense to finally hit the $100 after about a year’s worth of having them onboard but once that check arrives, I’ll be looking to replace Adsense with other advertising blocks.  But for now, I’m very pleased with the way things have progressed, monetarily, on this blog.  As for content, well, that’s a different story.  With the wedding finally over, it’s time to reload and get things in the correct gear.

Reminder: Blogroll Additions

Just remember that you have until February 23, my last day as a single male, to sign up for the Blogroll!  Two and a half weeks to go folks!

Have Blog, Will Blogroll!

Blog Income - January 2008

Hah!  This is the first post I’ve ever had to make regarding this blog’s income.  Since the start last June, not only have I seen a steady increase in traffic, but the blog’s finally able to support itself.  Here’s a breakdown of this month’s blog income:

  • TLA Links:  $20.03
  • Sponsored Reviews:  $65.00
  • TNX Links:   $41.98
  • Private Sales:  $51.35
  • Total for January 2008:   $178.36

So it isn’t the income some A-list bloggers see.  But this shows that anyone, starting from scratch and passionate about a topic, can easily create a blog that can bring in just enough to have that night out on the town with family and loved ones.  Next month, I’m expecting Google Adsense to kick in for the first time.  A mix of other sponsored reviews and link sales should keep up the monthly support for the blog.  All funds for the blog sit in my PayPal money market account for blog expenses only.  How do you all deal with your blog’s income and expenses?  Do you all have a separate account for your blogging habits?
